AI Editing (REMO AUTO)

AI-powered photo editing built into your REMO workspace. REMO AUTO is your virtual editor — it sits in the pipeline alongside your human editors, and you route work to it job by job.

Looking for REMO FAST?

REMO FAST is our standalone AI photo enhancement platform that doesn't require workspace setup. Perfect for individual photographers or quick one-off processing. Learn about REMO FAST

REMO AUTO is the umbrella

REMO AUTO isn't a single editing tool — it's the umbrella over the AI editing engines available to your workspace. Today it routes to one of two engines, presented as peers:

  • REMO AUTO engine — REMO's built-in, fully managed AI editing (powered by Autoenhance). Nothing to connect; it works as soon as you enable AI editing.
  • AutoHDR — a professional HDR engine. Strong at bracket merging (it auto-detects bracket sets and merges them for you) and accepts compressed RAW that the built-in engine doesn't.

You choose a default engine for your workspace and can override it per job. Whichever engine runs, the workflow around it — routing, review, and delivery — is the same.

Two engines

AI editing runs on one of two engines, chosen per workspace and per job:

EngineWhat it is
REMO AUTOThe built-in engine. Nothing to connect.
AutoHDRA professional HDR engine, strong at bracket merging. Run it on REMO's key, or connect your own AutoHDR account.

Use REMO AUTO when you're managing jobs through the full REMO platform and want AI editing integrated into your workflow.

Use REMO FAST when you need quick, standalone photo enhancement without setting up a workspace.

Workspace setup

AI editing is configured once for the whole workspace, then used per job.

www.remo-app.com/admin/integrations
  1. Go to Advanced → Settings → Integrations.
  2. Enable AI editing for your workspace (the REMO AUTO section).
  3. In the engine cards, enable the engines you want to offer and set a default engine. You'll see two cards: the built-in REMO AUTO engine (shown as the Autoenhance card in Settings) and AutoHDR. You can turn an engine off entirely — for example, run AutoHDR-only by disabling the built-in REMO AUTO (Autoenhance) engine. At least one engine must stay enabled.
  4. For AutoHDR, connect your own AutoHDR account if you have one (BYO key), or run it on REMO's key.
  5. Save your settings.

Each engine card shows the engine's capabilities, an enable toggle, and a "Set default" action. The default engine carries a ● Default badge.

Per-job routing

For each job, a manager decides who edits the media:

  • Human editor — the job goes to your editing queue for a person to handle.
  • REMO AUTO — the job is routed to AI editing.

When you pick REMO AUTO, the resolved engine is shown inline (your workspace default, unless overridden). Use the inline Change control to override the engine for that one job — choosing between the engines your workspace has enabled. Overriding a single job never changes your workspace default.

Dispatching AutoHDR jobs

When a job is routed to AutoHDR, the manager dispatches it explicitly with Send to AutoHDR once the media is ready. From there you can watch progress and, when the results land, move them on to review and delivery. The built-in REMO AUTO engine dispatches automatically when media is received.

Processing flow

Route job → Media ready → AI processing → Review (optional) → Delivery
  1. Route — a manager routes the job to REMO AUTO and picks the engine (or accepts the default).
  2. Media ready — raw photos are uploaded (or submitted by the client for an editing-only order).
  3. AI processing — the chosen engine edits the photos. AutoHDR auto-detects and merges bracket sets, so a batch of brackets comes back as the merged, delivery-ready images.
  4. Review (optional) — if your studio reviews finals, the results wait for manual approval.
  5. Delivery — approved (or auto-approved) results become deliverables for the client.

QA review

Review before delivery is your studio's review policy (Settings › General), not an AutoHDR option: when it is on, results from every engine, AutoHDR and REMO AUTO included, wait for a person to approve them before clients see the photos.

Best practices

Photo quality

For best AI results:

  • Shoot in RAW when possible
  • Proper exposure (avoid extreme over/under)
  • Clean lens
  • Stable shots (tripod recommended)

Choosing an engine

  • Built-in REMO AUTO is the simplest path — nothing to connect, good for everyday real estate photos.
  • AutoHDR is a strong choice for heavy bracket work and when you shoot compressed RAW, or when you'd rather bill editing through your own AutoHDR account.

When to use AI vs a human editor

Good for AI:

  • Standard real estate photos
  • High-volume shoots
  • Quick turnaround needs
  • Consistent results

Consider a human editor for:

  • Luxury properties
  • Architectural details
  • Complex lighting
  • Client-specific requests

Keep QA review on while you build trust in a new engine, then turn it off for hands-off delivery once results are consistently good.

Troubleshooting

Processing failures

If photos fail to process:

  1. Check your file format is supported by the chosen engine — the built-in engine accepts JPG/PNG/HEIC and DNG but not compressed RAW; AutoHDR additionally accepts compressed RAW
  2. Confirm AI editing is enabled and an engine is set as default in Advanced → Settings → Integrations
  3. For BYO AutoHDR, confirm your AutoHDR account key is connected
  4. Review the error message on the job for details

Poor results

If AI results aren't satisfactory:

  1. Check source photo quality
  2. Try the other engine (via the per-job Change override) for a different look
  3. Route the job to a human editor as a backup
  4. Contact support for persistent issues
