The @REMO Slack Agent

The @REMO Slack agent is a read-only AI assistant that answers questions about your workspace in plain language, straight from your live REMO data. Ask it what's on today, who's free, or who's editing a job, and it replies right in Slack — no need to open REMO.

It's read-only: @REMO answers questions but never changes anything. To act on a job from Slack — mark it delivered, confirm an editor — use the buttons and slash commands covered in the Slack integration guide.

Asking @REMO a question

There are two ways to ask:

  • Mention it in a channel — type @REMO followed by your question in any channel the bot has been invited to. REMO replies in a thread under your message.
  • Direct-message it — send your question to @REMO in a DM, and it answers there.

When you ask a follow-up in the same thread, @REMO remembers the earlier messages, so you can keep the conversation going without repeating yourself.

Invite @REMO first

The agent can only answer in channels it's a member of. Invite it once with /invite @REMO, then mention it any time.

REMO matches you to your workspace member by your Slack email, so the agent answers with your permissions — the same data you'd see in REMO. If your Slack account isn't linked to a member in the workspace, @REMO asks you to link your account first.

What @REMO can answer

@REMO is built for day-to-day operations questions, pulled live from your workspace:

Ask aboutExample
Jobs and the schedule"What shoots are on today?"
A specific job"Who's editing 14 Oak Street?"
Member availability"Who's free tomorrow?"
Property addresses"Do we have anything booked at 14 Oak Street?"
Revenue and outstanding invoices"What's outstanding this month?"

It answers only from your own workspace's data — it can't see jobs, schedules, or numbers from any other workspace.

Revenue is manager-only

Anyone on the team can ask about jobs, the schedule, and availability. Revenue and outstanding-invoice questions are answered only for Managers and above — if you don't have access, @REMO tells you so instead of sharing the numbers.

If a question is outside what it can look up, @REMO says so briefly rather than guessing.

Daily standup

@REMO can post an optional daily standup summary each morning at 7 AM in your workspace's local time — a quick rundown to start the day. It posts to your default channel, and it's off by default; an admin turns it on in Slack settings.

Enabling and disabling the agent

@REMO is controlled per workspace from Advanced → Settings → Integrations → Slack.

  • An agentEnabled toggle turns the agent on or off. While it's off, @REMO simply doesn't respond to mentions or DMs.
  • A per-workspace rate limit caps how many questions the agent answers in a rolling window, so a busy channel can't run up unexpected usage.
You need admin access

Turning the agent on or off, and configuring the daily standup, requires Owner or Admin access to the workspace.

Privacy and tenant isolation

@REMO is locked to the workspace it's answering for. The workspace is resolved on REMO's side from the channel or DM the question came from — never from anything you type — so the agent can never reach another workspace's data, even when several REMO workspaces share the same Slack. Each question is scoped to your workspace and answered with your own member permissions.
